Wine Walk Warms the Heart

The 2007 Wine Walk took place last Friday. Smalltown was there to support the local businesses and build awareness. We handed out mugs, t-shirts and brochures. We also held a free raffle with gift cards from local merchants for prizes. Everyone had a lot of fun, especially when all the attendees got a little tipsy from the wine.

Wine Walk is an annual fundraising event for the Downtown San Mateo Association, a non-profit organization representing more than 800 businesses in downtown San Mateo.

One person visited our booth to tell us that he was a contractor and he had gotten three calls from customers saying they found him on Smalltown before he had even heard about Smalltown. Another merchant came up to me to say she read our Daily Digest, learned about the Wine Walk from our Events Calendar, and made a trip to the Wine Walk specifically to meet Smalltown people and thank us for the great new service we provide her town. It was a heart warming evening. Again, I think the wine helped.
